When I’ve seen the piece you’d like me to renew, I will be able to give you an idea of what could be done. All the work is performed by hand, so we will need to allow 2-3 weeks before your event to avoid disappointment, so do get in touch as soon as possible so I can accommodate your needs.
If you don’t already have a hat you would like to re:NEW, and would prefer not to purchase a brand new hat, then perhaps consider looking in charity shops for a hidden gem and have me re:NEW that for you to match your outfit, or take a look at the Julian Garner Headwear – re:NEW hats and headpieces and support a charity at the same time as an independent business.
Julian Garner Headwear – re:NEW is a line of hats and headpieces that have been given a second chance, while also helping others.
The hats are bought from charity shops and go through a cleansing process. Any parts that are not reused are recycled where possible, but as much as possible of the hat is kept. If a trimming is still useful it is given a new lease of life and reattached to the finished hat.
When the hat is finished and priced up for sale, the original price paid to the charity shop is doubled and added to the total retail price; this money then goes back to the charity shop from which the hat was bought, to further support that charity (so if a hat was purchased for £20.00, a further £40.00 will go back to the charity on the sale of the re: NEW hat).
This line of hats helps and encourages people to support charities within their communities, and reminds the fashion consumer that we can teach an old hat new tricks!
